This role is responsible for the planning, coordinating and delivery of pivotal initiatives and new operating concepts that drive our short, and long-term enterprise growth strategies through field evolution. The work includes but is not limited to collaborating with enterprise leaders and business partners to understand the vision of our strategic roadmap, preparing key functional teams for future impacts to operational processes and the customer and associate experience, while continually assessing operational opportunities, competing priorities, organizational change management, and risk to day to day operations.

Workstreams include testing and implementations related to hardware/software, emerging technologies, Artificial Intelligence, our store’s operating model, BOPIS and the end-to-end customer experience. This role will take concepts from the ideation phase and see them through to solution delivery, while also collaborating and negotiating across work groups to assess competing priorities, timelines, field impact, and risk to day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities
  • Research, analyze and track trendsetting operational practices to help influence our roadmap and understand how solutions would benefit our store’s operating model; including areas like customer loyalty, BOPIS, universal cart, checkout experience, AI, in store process optimization, etc.
  • Lead the day to day strategy and execution of the Buy Online, Pick Up in Store (BOPIS) program, including prioritization of enhancements and holiday readiness.
  • Lead the strategy and execution and BOPIS initiatives that modernize field capabilities and enable scalable, omnichannel growth.
  • Travel in stores and with Field Leadership to observe existing practices and solicit feedback to inform our prioritization of process improvements and initiatives
  • Based on observations and field feedback; document and present recommendations for future state practices that reduce complexity and/or maximize sales growth potential for the field organization
  • Be knowledgeable and able to communicate to home office and field leadership a complete assessment of proposed recommendations that includes the impact to the organization, trade-offs, risks, costs, benefits and opportunities of each solution
  • Lead implementation and execution of aligned on solutions in partnership with Field Leaders, Store Operations, Technology Services, Human Resources, Finance, etc.
  • Participate in weekly/monthly/quarterly Home Office and Field meetings, as applicable
Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of managing store projects or operational implementations in a retail or corporate environment
  • Ability to collaborate & influence key business leaders to develop operational strategies/solutions
  • Experience leading projects or driving work with varying complexity
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, highly collaborative, change-oriented environment; driving results through leadership, team building, influence and conflict resolution
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of leading, developing and motivating others
  • Ability to travel with overnight stays
Preferred, but can be learned in role:
  • Capable of developing content and solutions for a field audience based on a deep understanding of the operating model
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively at all levels, inside and outside the organization
  • Capacity to influence partners to arrive at solutions that best support each initiative
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills
  • Retail experience preferred, store and field leadership experience a plus
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
