About the role.

The Process Control Engineer is responsible for improving efficiency, consistency, and food safety across production operations through process optimization and standardization. This role serves as the functional lead for process control and Formula Recipe Management, partnering closely with Engineering, Production, and Corporate R&D. The position also supports food safety, quality compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives at the Othello site.

What you'll be doing.
  • Lead process optimization using statistical analysis, including SPC, DOE, and development of process control models
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance
  • Lead Formula Recipe Management implementation and develop process control rollout packages
  • Serve as the plant liaison for Corporate R&D, supporting new product development, trials, and product optimization
  • Supervise and develop Process Control employees, ensuring strong performance, training, and safety compliance
What you'll need to be successful.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in frozen food manufacturing and quality/process control environments
  • Strong proficiency in statistical methods, root-cause analysis, and food safety principles (HACCP, sanitation)
  • Advanced computer skills with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and collaboration skills in a multicultural environment

This role sits within the Production organization at the Othello manufacturing site and reports to the Max Capacity Manager. The Process Control Engineer leads the Process Control team and works cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Sanitation, Safety, and Corporate R&D to support operational excellence and innovation.
