Job description

Job Purpose
Performs inspections and production line audits to ensure product and process compliance while continually seeking to learn the best quality practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Adheres to company policies and presents a professional, positive attitude at all times.
  • Understand and utilize general quality concepts and tools.
  • Understand and follow applicable BG Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies.
  • Maintain a basic knowledge and understanding of BG processes.
  • Awareness and understanding of pertinent documents (e.g. procedures, work instructions, quality action plans).
  • Accomplish or update tasks assigned in a timely manner.
  • Understand and utilize various software applications with BG's operational control.
  • Perform receiving inspection on packaging components and finished products using supplier specifications, and first part inspections on both new and updated products.
  • Record, maintain, and analyze defects and production line audit data.
  • Audit inventory for products approaching or beyond their shelf life.
  • Travel to campus and off-campus facilities as needed.
  • Use measuring equipment. (scales, calipers, weights, steel ruler)
  • Identify and control nonconforming product(s).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Experience in quality assurance/control or equivalent education and/or experience; ASQ Quality Inspector/Technician certification or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Statistical Process Control (SPC), internal auditing, and continual improvement preferred.
