Summary: We're seeking an experienced Staging Stockroom Manager to lead our staging and stockroom operations, ensuring seamless flow of manufactured parts from Fabrication and Assembly through to production. This role is critical to our manufacturing success, requiring strong leadership, inventory management expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You'll oversee a team responsible for receiving, storing, tracking, and delivering parts while maintaining industry-leading accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Inventory & Material Flow Management
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for receiving and storing all manufactured parts from Fabrication and Assembly
  • Oversee data entry and transfer of parts to and from rack locations, ensuring accuracy and traceability
  • Ensure on-time delivery of materials to assembly and other work centers
  • Maintain inventory accuracy on all staging and stockroom parts through systematic controls and audits
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to trace and resolve missing parts or inventory discrepancies
  • Monitor and maintain staging and stockroom racking systems for optimal organization and safety

Systems & Process Excellence
  • Train and monitor personnel on proper scanning methods, written documentation, and computer processes for receiving all shipped or delivered products
  • Ensure all production item numbers are recorded correctly for efficient retrieval by production and staging personnel
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures; conduct regular audits to ensure compliance
  • Review and examine department performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Leverage Continuous Improvement tools to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with production planners to resolve receiving, scrap, rework, end-run problems, and manufacturing concerns
  • Partner with procurement specialists to report quality issues, shortages, late deliveries, and purchasing-related concerns
  • Collaborate with outside suppliers and external warehouses to coordinate delivery schedules and expedite materials
  • Participate in master schedule reviews to identify and communicate purchase parts issues
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers, indirect customers, and production inventory control personnel

Technology & Equipment Oversight
  • Ensure staff develop computer skills to operational acceptance levels for performing essential inventory transactions
  • Research critical information related to part locations and counts using enterprise systems
  • Monitor care of equipment and ensure vehicle safety checks and repairs are performed on schedule
  • Optimize use of equipment, facilities, and materials to maximize operational efficiency

Team Leadership & Development
  • Make employment decisions and recommendations regarding hiring, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, and pay adjustments
  • Coordinate and manage workflow, directing team members to meet departmental goals
  • Manage employee performance through coaching, mentoring, and administering performance reviews
  • Plan and implement employee training and skill development activities
  • Conduct weekly team meetings and regular individual employee meetings to facilitate growth and communication
  • Audit and maintain accurate employee timekeeping and absentee records
  • Foster a culture aligned with company Core and Growth Values

Qualifications:
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred

Experience:
  • 5+ years in warehouse, inventory, or stockroom management within a manufacturing environment
  • Leadership: 3+ years managing and developing teams of 5+ employees
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with inventory management systems and ERP platforms
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
    • Experience with barcode scanning systems and warehouse management software
    • Strong data entry and database management capabilities
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of inventory control principles, material flow processes, and lean manufacturing concepts

Work Environment:
This position is located in an active industrial manufacturing and distribution center with moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and material handling equipment in operation. The role may require extended periods of standing or walking on concrete floors and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots. The fast-paced environment involves time-sensitive and safety sensitive operations and may include various shift schedules to support production and distribution needs.
