Job Overview:

This position supports daily racing and barn operations by providing transportation services, maintaining clean and sanitary stable areas, assisting with horse care and quarantine procedures, and handling the setup, breakdown, and movement of equipment and materials. The role requires safe operation of vehicles, physical stamina, attention to biosecurity protocols, and the ability to work independently in an outdoor, fast-paced environment, including weekends and holidays.

Essential Functions:

Drive the passenger van between Belmont and Aqueduct on race days.
Clean the passenger van and notify supervisor of any mechanical or interior issues.
Clean and sanitize stalls.
Communicate maintenance needs to appropriate parties, including stall office and facilities personnel
Assist with the assembly and receiving barns.
Prepare and clean out stalls for stakes horses shipping in from out of town.
Move bedding, water jugs, stabling equipment, and other materials.
Quarantine barn team attendant - sanitize horse vans/trailers, assist and comply with procedures for USDA permanent quarantine facility, assist and comply with procedures for USDA temporary quarantine set-up due to horses shipping internationally and/or due to biohazard
Responsible for the setup, cleaning, and breakdown of the Horse Sense stall in Saratoga.
Other duties as required to assist the stall office and racing operations.
Safely operate the golf cart, or other UTV/vehicle, to transport materials.
Clean out tack rooms, offices, and other rooms in the barn area.

Qualifications:

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Ability to keep up with the physical requirements of the job
Ability to follow directions closely and independently
Reliability
No minimum education requirements are required for this role
Drivers license and clean driving record
Ability to work weekends
Ability to work holidays
Preferred Skills:
Experience in barn, stable, racetrack, or agricultural environments
Basic horse handling and equine care knowledge
Familiarity with sanitation, biosecurity, and quarantine procedures
Ability to safely operate vans, golf carts, etc.
Strong physical stamina for outdoor, labor-intensive work
Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Team-oriented with clear communication skills
Bilingual English/Spanish skills a plus
Flexible and adaptable to changing tasks and schedules
