Job description

Heyl Royster is seeking highly motivated attorneys with 1-5 years of litigation experience to join our established team. The ideal candidate will have experience with drafting critical motions, developing written discovery, taking and defending depositions, and participating in court proceedings. The position provides opportunity to work on complex, multi-party litigation and immediate opportunity for meaningful litigation experience. Candidates should possess the ability to work productively in team settings. This position will be based at our St. Louis office, which is located near the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the St. Louis City Courthouse, St. Louis University School of Law and Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Expectations
  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school required.
  • Active State of Missouri and/or Illinois Law license, in good standing.
  • 1-5 years' experience, preference for experience in civil litigation, workers compensation defense, and/or medical malpractice.

Compensation and Benefits
The base range is $93,000 to $125,000. In addition to your salary, we have an incentive bonus plan for associates which provides for the possibility of additional monthly compensation. That Bonus Program for 2026 includes the potential for additional monthly compensation of $1,000, $1,500, $2,000 or $2,500 which could add up to $30,000 of additional annualized compensation above the base salary. We pay those bonus payments in the month after they are earned. The overall compensation package offered will take into account several factors including, but not limited to, experience, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications/credentials, talent availability and specialization, as well as business needs.
