Position Summary

The Event Manager reports directly to the Senior Event Manager. The Event Manager positionย isย responsible forย all event production as the liaison for the facility and the promoter. This will include all Moody Centerย events:ย basketball games,ย concerts, and family shows. Responsible for all event planning, event-day operations, and tear-down, including all front and back-of-house activities and personnel during events. Requires commitment to workย a flexible and irregular schedule, including lengthy hours, early mornings, late evenings,ย weekends,ย and holidays according to specific event agendas and assignments.ย 

This role pays an annual salary of $60,000-$68,000

Benefits for Full-Time Roles: Health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) savings plan; 401(k) matching; and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).

This position will remain open until July 24, 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge in operation procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-relatedย services,ย and technical requirements for the types of eventsย anticipatedย at the facility.ย 
  • Manage and advance large-scale events, including concerts, sports events, and special events.ย 
  • Manage all production needs, including stagehands, medical, fire, security, audio & visual, and all operating equipment.ย 
  • Manage planning, budgeting, and coordination of event operations before, during, and after assigned events for approximately 150 events annually.ย ย 
  • Work with the Senior Event Manager to ensure all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules/regulations,ย and emergency procedures are followed.ย 
  • Communicate andย disseminate event-related information toย appropriate departments, vendors, and others to ensure necessary levels of staffing coverage and overall event understanding.ย ย 
  • Develop andย maintainย effective working relationships with clients, partners, and all stakeholders.ย 
  • Meet with client groups to plan and organize assigned events and/or meetings.ย 
  • Guideย clients in preparation of events by interpreting and explaining contract provisions, policies, and procedures.ย 
  • Prepare cost estimates andย monitorย final billing for assigned events.ย 
  • Provide clear, concise, andย timelyย communication of detailed requirements to all Moody Center departments.ย 
  • Resolve problemsย in a timely manner; analyze and gather information andย identifyย alternative solutions quickly and effectively.ย 
  • Monitor and supervise facility setup.ย 
  • Create AutoCADs for events.ย 
  • Serve asย primaryย liaison between clients and facility departments for assigned events.ย ย 
  • Monitor in-house events,ย maintaining close contact with clients and facility staff to ensure successful events. Follow up on all client requests,ย concerns, and problems.ย 
  • Manage the creation and formal submittal of AutoCAD drawings to the local fire marshal office for events to include adherence to local fire codes, rules, and regulations. ย 
  • Serve as manager on duty asย required.ย 
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours at Moody Center events, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.ย 
  • Meet the physical demands of this job, which include being able to get in and around the facility,ย lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, and moderate to loud noises.ย 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.ย 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public assembly facility management, hospitality management, business administration, or a related field preferred.ย (Relevant education and experience may be substituted asย appropriate.)ย 
  • 3-5 years' experience in large sports and/or music entertainment management and production.ย 
  • Experience placing stagehands, audio & visual, show runners, police, security, and medical staffing calls for large-scale events and sporting events.ย 
  • Experience in dealing with third-party vendors for gases, heavy machinery, catering, and furniture / equipment rentals. ย 
  • Experience with AutoCAD.ย 
  • Training in Active Shooter, Bombย Threats, and Severe Weather.ย 
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certified.ย 
  • Knowledgeable in ADA code and compliance.ย 
  • Knowledge of budget preparation and control.ย 
  • Adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.ย 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an expert ability to present and communicateย new ideas and concepts.ย 
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented, resourceful, quick learner, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.ย 
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.ย 
  • Excellent customer service skills.ย 
  • Knowledgeable and proficient with Microsoft Office applications, payroll systems, and Photoshop.ย 
  • Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays asย required.ย
