What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a SQL Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a SQL Developer, you need a solid understanding of database design, advanced SQL querying, and data modeling, often backed by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with database management systems like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL, and certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate are commonly required.
