What You’ll Do:

As a SQL Developer, you’ll play a meaningful role supporting data operations within the Health Information Analytics team. This role integrates data solutions across business functions, enhances database performance, and collaborates with business analysts to enable data-driven decision-making. By facilitating robust data transfer between applications, data warehouses, and analytical tools, the SQL Developer ensures data accessibility and integrity, significantly impacting the organization’s operational efficiency and strategic goals. This is a Remote position.

Essential Functions

  • Build high-quality, scalable data solutions using SQL and APIs, enabling efficient data transfers across business applications, data warehouses, and analytics platforms.
  • Collaborate with business analysts to translate business requirements into technical specifications, supporting analytical initiatives and reporting needs.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and custom visualizations to provide stakeholders with real-time insights and enhance decision-making.
  • Develop, implement, and fine-tune stored procedures and functions for improved performance and efficiency. - Analyze and optimize existing SQL queries for maximum efficiency, while identifying opportunities for new, impactful queries.
  • Design and execute data migration and conversion scripts, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and seamless compatibility across diverse systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving SQL, database architecture, API interactions, data workflows, and visualization tools.
  • Maintain strict adherence to healthcare data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and follow best practices for data security to safeguard patient information.
  • Work with healthcare-specific standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD, CPT, SNOMED, CCDA) to ensure accuracy and interoperability across health systems.
  • Design SQL solutions supporting advanced analytics, transforming clinical, operational, and patient data into actionable insights for improved health outcomes.
  • Maintain clear documentation of data pipelines, transformations, business rules, and dashboard logic for compliance and ongoing analytics support.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders such as, clinical data analysts, health information managers, quality improvement teams, and compliance officers to ensure data solutions, visualizations, and reports align with clinical workflows, regulatory standards, and organizational goals for patient care.
  • Understand foundational cloud data warehousing principles, including efficient data loading, transformation processes, and handling semi-structured data formats (such as JSON). Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and data lake architectures is preferred.
  • Apply best practices for optimizing performance, including partitioning, clustering, and caching, as well as leveraging cloud-based data-sharing capabilities for secure collaboration.
  • Operate autonomously under general supervision, proactively monitoring assignments and reporting progress to project teams and management.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures in addition to regulations, laws and other requirements from applicable governing bodies, certification, licensure and/or accreditation entities, etc.

  • Prioritize work based on the needs of the business and in accordance with company strategy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Management, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred. Alternatively, a minimum of 3 years’ experience in health data analytics is required.
  • Certifications in relevant data management or analytical tools (such as SQL, Snowflake, or data visualization tools) are advantageous and may substitute for formal education where appropriate.
  • Strong SQL skills and relational database design experience are essential, with a solid background in data warehouse management.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Python, and cloud-based data platforms is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with data migration, transformation, and API integration to enable seamless data flow across applications. Proficiency in data transfer methods using APIs is required.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript and HTML to support data visualization or integration into web-based platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with the skill to translate complex technical information for non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record, if applicable.

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
