Green Expert Technology (GreenXT) is seeking a SQL Developer to join our team to help provide RCOH SQL developer support for the SUPSHIP Newport News Planning Team. As the RCOH SQL developer, you will be responsible for providing Structured Query Language (SQL) support services to SUPSHIPNN RCOH project teams and ensuring interoperability across legacy and modern data platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, enhance, develop, and troubleshoot issues/bugs in existing Access applications and vintage Microsoft Access "accdb" databases.
  • Responsible for maintaining and administering SQL Server databases, including backups, tuning, modifying existing tables/queries, security, and managing user accounts.
  • Design, develop, repair, and optimize SQL database-driven applications while ensuring strict compliance with data integrity and Cybersecurity requirements.
  • Work closely with Contracting Officers, Planning Manager(s), and application users to ensure required functionality of existing code, evaluate/recommend software solutions, and develop new features.
  • Convert Access SQL statements into SQL server syntax, design GUI forms in Access, and debug code using VBA.
  • Improve the security features of Access applications and assist SUPSHIP with the Authority to Operate (ATO) process when necessary.
  • Incorporate software versioning and utilize software version control systems for existing applications.

Requirements
  • Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance is required for this position
  • Minimum of ten years of relevant experience with aircraft carrier maintenance and operations, shipbuilding/ship repair business analysis. Equivalent experience with other fleet assets will be considered. Previous IT development experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS SQL Server (12.0 and above) and vintage Microsoft Access "accdb" databases. Fundamental understanding of SUPSHIP workflow and the use of Government acronyms to facilitate communication. Working knowledge of software version control system(s).
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to design forms (GUI) and debug code (VBA) in Access.
  • Must possess Security+ or equivalent certification. SQL server certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving abilities.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Project/Program Management experience.
  • Former US Navy Chief Petty Officer, Chief Warrant Officer, or Limited Duty Officer.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
  • Experience working with or at a shipyard, Naval Surface/Undersea Warfare Center (NSWC/NUWC), Supervisor of Shipbuilding Command (SUPSHIP), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), and/or Type Commander (TYCOM).
  • Working knowledge of AWS is preferred.
