School Protective Security Specialist (SPSS)

(For 26/27 school year, hiring and training will begin in June/July 2026)

Raven 22 Solutions Group/Harrell Group is currently seeking professional and dependable individuals to serve as School Protective Security Specialists (SPSS). This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure educational environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

We are looking for candidates who are disciplined, alert, and committed to protecting schools and communities through proactive security presence and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Former Military or Law Enforcement experience preferred
  • Must be able to successfully pass:
    • Must be able to pass the SPSS Physical Agility Test/Qualification
    • Comprehensive Background Check
    • Physiological Assessment
    • Drug Screening
  • Must possess strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a school environment
  • Professional appearance and demeanor required
  • Must be dependable, observant, and capable of responding appropriately during emergencies
  • Valid driver’s license preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide armed protective security services on school campuses
  • Monitor school grounds, buildings, and entrances
  • Assist with emergency response and incident management
  • Maintain high visibility to deter threats and unauthorized activity
  • Build positive relationships with school staff and administration
  • Complete daily reports and required documentation
  • Enforce safety and security protocols

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPR / First Aid certification
  • Tennessee armed security licensing or ability to obtain
  • Experience working with youth, educational staff, or community organizations
