POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President, Global Sales Engineering is responsible for developing and leading Anomali's Sales Engineering team, ensuring they provide exemplary pre-sales support to the sales team focusing on territory and enterprise accounts. Anomali's Sales Engineers assist in driving new business from prospective and existing customer accounts within their respective assigned territory, and meeting and/or exceeding all sales quotas to achieve revenue goals. This position will organize, plan, direct, and coordinate all aspects of the technical pre-sales engagement experience for Anomali globally. This leader will also be responsible for working cross-functionally with sales and product management to align customer requirements and accelerate growth
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this executive will be a strategic member of the leadership team with a strong background in cybersecurity, and a combination of exceptional technology and communication skills to ensure customer adoption of Anomali's solutions. The selected candidate will:
• Develop and maintain a clear vision for the Sales Engineering team while bringing accountability, energy, a results-orientation, and a growth mentality to the organization.
• Lead the Regional Sales Engineers Managers in developing their teams and exceeding their performance targets.
• Align closely with sales to develop success plans and engagement strategies to drive increased ARR at existing and new customers. Attend key customer meetings to present Anomali solutions.
• Provide exemplary pre-sales technical expertise through technical and product demonstrations and train the global Sales Engineer organization to perform at the highest level.
• Work closely with Anomali leadership team on sales strategy, product direction and solution positioning.
• Act as a business resource to the customer/prospect and provide "industry expert" executive level selling practices with consistent communication and on-going technical consultation.
• Proactively drive Strategic and Enterprise account opportunities within key territory accounts.
• Leverage extensive market knowledge to be a trusted advisor to the customer to shorten the sales cycle.
• Work in conjunction with Sales, Marketing, and Product Managers. The Sales Engineer (SE) is the technical bridge between Anomali's Enterprise Business Representatives (demand generation) and their pre-sales customers.
• Host continuous sales enablement for market, product, and competitive knowledge to the field sales engineering team.
• Evaluate and develop ways to streamline the proof of value sales cycle with direct and channel partners.
• Provide hands-on experience to help build solution demonstrations that cater to the customers business use cases.
• Participate in regional industry events/organizations as an industry thought leader.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The Vice President, Global Sales Engineering will be an outstanding Sales Engineering executive with progressive experience in high-growth SaaS companies, ideally within the cyber security space.
• 10-15 years' industry experience in sales engineering focused on the cyber security market, SIEM /Security Analytics experience a must.
• Demonstrable sales leadership experience in high-tech enterprise software sales working with a leading software product company.
• Understanding of the market trends in the cyber security space and key competitors in the industry.
• Ability to quickly learn, apply and position technical knowledge related to Anomali's technology and competitor offerings.
• Proven ability to evangelize and establish the value proposition surrounding security applications.
• Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and strong written and verbal communication skills. Speaks with authority over the phone and in person with high-level decision-makers and large audiences.
• Excellent knowledge of general networking concepts, and operating systems to include Linux and Windows.
• Strong understanding of security and information event management (SIEM).
• Preferred hands-on experience with SIEM/XDR technologies, such as Splunk, ArcSight, QRadar, Exabeam, Sentinel.
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Python/Perl.
• Demonstrated capability to handle Proof of Concept and solution demonstrations.
• Strong presentation skills and commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Confident in front of customers and audiences.
• Bias for action, self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
