Primary Objective

Design, develop, and optimize power conversion systems and electronic circuits for our next-generation products. You will work across the full development lifecycle โ€” from concept and simulation through prototype, validation, and production release โ€” collaborating closely with firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering teams

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Apply the electrical principles to design, develop and improve electrical products and systems.
  • Design and develop power conversion topologies including DC-DC converters, inverters, rectifiers, and motor drives from specifications through production.
  • Perform circuit simulation and analysis using tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent to validate designs before hardware builds.
  • Conduct thermal analysis, component selection, and magnetic design (transformers, inductors) for high-efficiency, high-reliability systems.
  • Lead hardware verification and testing, including EMI/EMC compliance, efficiency characterization, and stress testing to meet regulatory standards (UL, CE, IEC).
  • Collaborate with firmware engineers to develop and tune control algorithms (e.g., PWM, PID, MPPT) and support bring-up and debugging of power management systems
  • Create and maintain design documentation including schematics, BOM, test plans, and engineering reports in compliance with internal quality and configuration management processes.
  • Develop concepts and designs that meet or exceed the system's cost and performance goals. Also, develops concepts and designs for support of pre-sale applications as applicable. Plans and estimates cross functional development efforts.
  • Provide technical reports, presentations, knowledge sharing. Reviews progress & evaluate results related to projects.
  • Supports digital communication and third-party interfaces. Interfaces with vendors of electronic components, key development tools and technologies. (apply to senior levels).

General Qualifications

  • BS degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Proven experience leading power electronic new product development from start to finish
  • Expected travel averaging less than 10%, domestic and international

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in electrical engineering or related field
  • Experience with permanent magnet synchronous motor control circuits
  • Familiarity with current power electronic components (e.g., wide band gap hard-switched devices)
  • Excellent understanding of electromagnetic physics and practical methods to test and troubleshoot high frequency, med/high voltage switching events
  • Familiar with electrical design software (e.g,. Altium)
  • Experience with custom systems and high-performance (e.g,. Motorsport, Aerospace) application

Compensation Information:

$107,000 - $160,000 Annual Salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
