Job description

Spiritual Care Coordinator
Concordia Hospice of Washington โ€“ Washington, PA

At Concordia Hospice of Washington, faith is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that spiritual care is an essential part of hospice โ€” offering peace, comfort, and hope when theyโ€™re needed most. We are seeking a part-time Hospice Pastor who feels called to serve, bringing compassion, prayer, and faith-based support to our patients and their loved ones.

What youโ€™ll do as Spiritual Care Coordinator:

  • Provide spiritual care, prayer, and emotional support to patients and families grounded in the Christian faith, while showing respect and understanding toward all beliefs.
  • Offer presence, comfort, and encouragement through scripture, conversation, and listening hearts.
  • Work closely with the hospice team โ€” including nurses, social workers, and volunteers โ€” to meet the spiritual needs of each patient and family.
  • Lead or assist with memorial services, bedside prayers, and family support as needed.
  • Serve as a comforting presence during times of transition, helping families find peace and reassurance through faith.

Who you are as a Spiritual Care Coordinator:

  • Ordained or licensed clergy with pastoral care experience (preferably in hospice, hospital, or church ministry).
  • A caring, compassionate individual who feels a true calling to serve those nearing the end of life.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, with a calm and prayerful demeanor.
  • Reliable transportation to visit patients in homes and facilities throughout the area.

Why choose Concordia as a Spiritual Care Coordinator:

  • A Christian, mission-driven organization dedicated to serving others through faith and compassion.
  • A supportive team that values your spiritual gifts and ministry.
  • Flexible, part-time schedule with meaningful, heart-centered work.

If you feel led to use your pastoral gifts to bring comfort, prayer, and faith into the lives of those we serve, we invite you to apply today.

About Concordia Visiting Nurses:

  • Since 1881, Concordia Lutheran Ministries has been a place with a mission of caring. A place for healing. A place to feel comfortable. And a place where heartfelt Christian faith and a strong sense of service to others help us make a difference every day.

OUR Mission:

  • To serve our aging community with a continuum of high-quality caregiving options, provided in a Christian environment, and to serve those with limited funds to the best of our ability.

Respect. Dignity. Compassion. Our Mission, Your Future! EOE
