Operations Manager, St Clair Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio

Arclin, Inc. is currently looking for an Operations Manager for our St Clair Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio location. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position leads a production department and their efforts in the safe and cost effective operation of the facility. This position is responsible for facilitating, directing and controlling as appropriate, all aspects of the production operation to ensure achievement of Arclin’s goals and objectives. This position ensures that the plant is operating in compliance with all regulatory and company policies, procedures and regulations.

Operations Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and direct the Manufacturing department consisting of around 75 people.
  • Hire, develop, and evaluate workforce. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis.
  • Provide and develop technical guidance, instruction, and training on the direct manufacturing of Specialty Materials.
  • Primary support for all process/quality/chemistry related manufacturing issues.
  • Implement process control technologies and methods in order to drive continuous improvement efforts in operational KPI’s such as scrap, rate, and waste.
  • Work with other functional leaders (internal to plant and corporate externally) to develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labor and equipment to meet production targets.
  • Identify and resolve safety concerns or issues, including accident/incident reporting, investigation and resolution.
  • Ensure that manufacturing team members are responsible for their safety, the safety of their team members and the quality of our production.
  • Support and collaborate with the Growth and Innovation group in the development of new products by leading production trials and by providing the technical input surrounding process technology and capabilities.

Operations Manager Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field. Exceptional work experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Direct management or Process Engineering experience preferred.
  • Experience within a chemical or industrial continuous or batch process environment. Rubber related processes a plus.
  • Must be a results driven leader with a firm understanding of Key Performance Indicators.
  • Must be a strategic thinker, planner, able to drive continuous improvement and achieve results.
  • Must have strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, motivational, and communication skills which can be demonstrated in an everyday work environment.
  • Experience in developing and planning forecast and execute operating budgets.
  • Highly proficient in the use of personal computers including MS Outlook, Excel (i.e. pivot tables, formula, conditional formatting etc), and Word.
  • Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Possess high professional ethics, dependability, good judgment and ability to take decisive action
  • Adhere to and enforce company safety and quality standards
  • On call – carries a cell phone and responds to after hour emergencies
