Job description

Solar Contract Carpet is a leading provider of multi-family, commercial, and residential flooring solutions across Michigan. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, quality craftsmanship, and maintaining the highest standards in flooring installation and inspection.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and certified Flooring Inspector / Quality Control Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold multiple manufacturer certifications as an authorized flooring inspector and have a strong background in flooring installation, inspection, and quality assurance. This position requires approximately 80% travel within Michigan, with all travel being day trips only.

Responsibilities:

· Perform detailed flooring inspections to determine installation and product issues.

· Conduct random job inspections to ensure Solar installers are performing their work to the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

· Prepare professional inspection reports with clear findings and actionable recommendations.

· Communicate effectively with customers, manufacturers, and internal departments.

· Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for correspondence, documentation, and reporting.

· Maintain professionalism and represent Solar Contract Carpet with integrity at all times.

Preferred Experience:

· Has been a flooring installer in the past or is currently active in flooring installation.

· Ability to organize and dispatch installation jobs among multiple installation crews based on location, workload, and skill level.

· Strong understanding of installation best practices, manufacturer standards, and field problem-solving.

Qualifications: MUST HAVE to Apply

· Current manufacturer certifications as an authorized flooring inspector (e.g., Shaw, Mohawk, Armstrong, etc.).

· Minimum 3+ years of flooring inspection or installation experience.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent time management, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.

· Must hold a valid driver’s license.
