What You'll Do:
Executes training programs as set forth by the Regional and Corporate Training management team to guarantee safe, accurate, and timely preventative maintenance or repair of equipment in the shop.
• Responsible for all training of shop employees to maximize their efficiency, productivity, and development.
• .Assists and trains Technicians in troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing tractors, trailers, and related mechanical components
• Serve as the primary trainer of shop employees; developing and executing custom training plans for each employee.
• Works closely with Shop Manager and Supervisors to ensure success of the training program while not disrupting ongoing maintenance operations.
• Executes new employee on-boarding process in coordination with Shop Management.
• Assists in the development and upkeep of corporate maintenance skillset training program.
• Assists with non-technical training such as leadership, conflict resolution, and other "soft skills"
• Coordinates with shop management in troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and maintaining equipment in the shop.
• Manages the shop preventative maintenance audit program
• Facilitates maintenance of company standards.
• Monitors repair order process for accuracy and completeness
• Facilitates a safe and efficient work environment
• Perform truck and/or trailer maintenance as required
• Performs other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in shop or with trucks required.
  • Experience in conducting classroom and hands-on training preferred

Skills/Certifications
  • Valid Drivers' License Required
  • ASE PMI certification (T8). Must be obtained within 1 year of being in the role and maintained.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Powerpoint, SharePoint, Word, and Outlok)
  • Able to work with hands tools.
  • Technical aptitude.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of corporate tire program.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose component problems.
  • Understands all maintenance sections of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Qualified inspector of Equipment Annual Inspection as defined under FHWA 396.12.
  • Qualified Brake Inspector as defined under FHWA 396.25.
  • Proficient with diagnostic software

Supervisory Responsibility: None; provides input to Shop Supervisor and Shop Manager.
Physical Requirements: while performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; frequently stands, walks, uses hands to finger, handle or feel; and reaches with hands and arms.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time supporting full body weight
  • Ability to walk 1000 feet minimum and change positions frequently
  • Ability to frequently move shoulders with full range of motion in all six planes of movement
  • Ability to reach heights over 72" frequently; ability to crouch to height of 18" frequently
  • Ability to reach and stretch across the midline with full cervical range of motion and bilateral range of motion
  • Ability to use hand tools constantly for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stoop to 30" minimum and kneel to 18" minimum
  • Ability to frequently climb 51' with one 24" step and pull full body weight.
  • Ability to frequently climb stairs 24" without a hand hold rail.
  • Ability to pull self up ladder with 4x17"steps with upper body pull.
  • Ability to constantly go in/out of truck on 51" and one 24" step pulling full body weight.
  • Ability to frequently go up and down ramp.
  • Ability to occasionally push 250 lbs, pull 125 lbs, frequently push/pull 100/50 lbs and constantly push/pull 50/25 lbs.
  • Ability to occasionally carry, lift overhead, high, low and medium lift 51/75 lbs, frequently 50/21 lbs and constantly 20/1 lbs.
*Must be able to perform all physical requirements with reasonable accommodation.
