The Tax Innovation Senior Consultant manages incoming innovation requests end-to-end - from intake and stakeholder coordination through established risk, legal, and compliance workflows - to efficiently advance high-impact ideas that drive growth, efficiency, and value across the Tax practice. Work you'll do 

The Senior, Technology Contracts professional you will perform complex assignments, commercial and contract drafting, liaise with senior stakeholders in Deloitte Tax and in the firm, and participate in firm-wide risk mitigation processes to support the Vice President in Strategic Technology Services for TTO.

  • Analyzing, revising, and negotiating software license agreements and various other technology and third-party relationship related agreements, including negotiating commercial terms.
  • Advising practitioners and risk managers of Deloitte US Tax on contract and risk related issues.
  • Liaising with the Office of General Counsel (OGC), Privacy and Confidentiality, Cyber Security, Information Security, and various other risk domains to ensure alignment on compliance requirements and consistent application of firm policies.
  • Drafting documents and correspondence in support of vendor and technology agreement activities.
  • Performing contract management functions such as summarizing, proofreading, redlining, and organizing and maintaining reference materials and databases.
  • Applying familiarity with generative AI technology productivity tools and agreements to support the evaluation and onboarding of AI-related vendor relationships.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex contract and risk issues into clear, practical guidance for stakeholders.

The Team 

The Strategic Technology Services team is responsible for the enablement of standard technology to support Tax service delivery and developing technology to facilitate these services. TTO focuses on enhancing Deloitte Tax's ability to deliver value-added and efficient Tax services to our clients. The TTO team consists of professionals with varying backgrounds ranging from Tax Professionals, Human Capital and Technology Consultants, and other IT professionals including QA and Support. 

Qualifications 

Required:

  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 - 3 days per week
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science or other relevant discipline
  • 3+ years of legal experience reviewing, drafting, and revising technology agreements, including software licensing, SaaS, clickthrough/shrink-wrap, content licensing, software development, or professional services agreements. 
  • Demonstrated experience drafting, redlining, and proofreading contract documents and related correspondence in a legal or contract management environment. 
  • Proven ability to analyze commercial and contractual issues and apply relevant policies, procedures, and risk considerations to support agreement review and negotiation.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
    • Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
    • If not CPA eligible:
      • Licensed Attorney
      • Enrolled Agent

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a professional services or consulting environment. 
  • Experience with Gen AI tools and modern technology collaboration platforms. 
  • Exposure to project management methodologies, Agile delivery, or design thinking frameworks.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $93,000 to $191,000.
