Job Summary

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead high-performing application development teams to design, build, and deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions that support critical business operations. You will blend technical leadership with people management, driving engineering excellence while fostering a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented team environment. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and external vendors to ensure technology solutions align with organizational goals and deliver measurable value.

This position is 100% onsite, day 1 in our Erlanger, KY office.

  • Lead and manage software engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
  • Drive application design, development, and delivery using modern engineering practices and technologies.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, architects, and product teams to define and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Oversee vendor partnerships and ensure successful delivery of externally supported solutions.
  • Establish and enforce development standards, best practices, and governance processes.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and project timelines to ensure efficient execution of technology initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance on architecture, system design, and emerging technologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience leading software engineering or application development teams.
  • Proven experience delivering complex software solutions in a business-driven environment.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and develop talent.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with business stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience working with modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, .NET, Python, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound technical and business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing vendor relationships and external development partners.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, AI/ML technologies, or modern data solutions.
  • Experience with Agile, DevOps, or CI/CD practices.
  • Exposure to enterprise architecture and large-scale system design.
  • Experience implementing or supporting AI-enabled applications or automation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of security, scalability, and performance considerations in enterprise systems.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to use sensory skills (i.e. verbal communication) to effectively communicate and interact with other Associates and customers.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motions and use fine motor skills (i.e. typing, writing) to operate office supplies (i.e. computer, calculator, copier).
  • Must be able to lift and carry approximately 20-25lbs unassisted.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time with low periods of reaching and standing.
