Software Tester (Salesforce) - Hybrid in Columbus
Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assures requirements are defined and approved, performs code reviews and ensures agency application development standards are met.
  • Analysis and Design; works with business area personnel to assure requirement(s) are thoroughly defined and approved; performs impacts analyses to identify interdependencies; assists with design reviews.
  • Development; performs code review(s); serves as technical lead, as assigned.
  • Testing and Implementation; creates detailed test designs and test plans; creates and reviews test data for performing test scenarios;
  • Coordinates and conducts execution of unit and system test scripts;
  • Coordinates and conducts debugging efforts and defect tracking;
  • Coordinates and supports user acceptance testing;
  • Coordinates, conducts and supports software implementation and deployment tasks;
  • Leads and performs the development, implementation, and monitoring of IT quality assurance standards and testing;
  • Performs performance, regression and load testing.
  • Documentation; writes, reviews, and coordinates development of application-related training materials and software user guides, program and/or application source code documentation (e.g., use cases, in-line code comments); departmental standards; appropriate standards and criteria for acceptable programming; documentation and systems development lifecycle activities;
  • Reviews development lifecycle activities;
  • Assists higher-level IT staff with estimating workload requirements and other project planning activities.
  • Designs and performs system analysis, recommends application solutions, tests and corrects programs and assists IT staff with documentation;
  • Assists in supporting user acceptance testing;
  • Performs software implementation tasks, including source control and deployment activities;
  • Develops, implements and monitors IT quality assurance standards and testing;
  • Develops and documents appropriate standards and criteria for acceptable programming and systems development lifecycle activities;
  • Develops software testing and automation procedures and performs analysis and design;
  • Reads, writes, extracts and/or reports from compounded files;
  • Works with business personnel to identify and document system software requirements;
  • Defines problems and develops potential solutions;
  • Performs post-production support for business applications which may include routine maintenance, enhancements and the need to perform research to aid in troubleshooting software production errors;
  • Identifies alternate courses of action, the review and evaluation of software development methodologies and completing software security scans and reporting on vulnerabilities;
  • Conducts performance testing and benchmarking of software application response times, analysis and reporting on performance measures.
  • Communicates with peers and others. Collaborates proactively.
  • Guides performance of software development tasks per verbal instructions;
  • Answers questions on technical topics to assist other technical staff in software development;
  • Obtains or imparts information from/to other technical staff and business personnel through discussion(s) involving database, infrastructure and/or application information;
  • Leads discussion(s) or formal meetings with technical and/or nontechnical personnel on simple to moderate technical topics in support of software development;
  • Summarizes, in writing, information on one or more related topics involving database, infrastructure and/or application information in support of software development;
  • Conveys, in writing, recommendations or conclusions to another for decision making purposes in support of software development.
  • Gathers, interprets and applies information from a variety of sources to aid in software development duties, activities and events;
  • Answers questions and presents informal mentorship opportunities to peers and/or lower-level staff via conversation, observation or technical documentation.
  • Understanding and experience in the use of Azure Dev Ops for documentation and iterative development collaboration, task management and other functions related to system testing and reporting.
  • Solid understanding of Agile, Iterative and Traditional Software development (SDLC) practices, standards as it relates to testing activities.
  • Provides training, coaching and mentoring of testing team members.
