Job description

Job Title: REGISTRAR

Supervised by/Reports to: Principal and/or Guidance Counselor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Goals:

  • To provide an essential service to the Guidance Counselor in the compilation of student records and data entry for the report cards and scheduling program.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma.
  • Computer literate.
  • Successful passage of the Work Keys Test required.

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist Counselor with permanent records in the current student management software.
  • Assist Counselor in enrolling new students in the current student management software.
  • Assist Counselor in printing and sending transcripts and requesting records.
  • Withdraw students from the current student management software.
  • Be knowledgeable of all testing done by elementary and high school counselors.
  • Maintain strict test security.
  • Maintain student database containing student demographics in the current student management software.
  • Assist teachers in inputting and maintaining daily student attendance and grade date in the current student management software, as needed.
  • Assist in training new teachers on student management software.
  • Print grade sheets when needed for verification and distribute to teachers to check for errors.
  • Assist if needed with the printing of a weekly-unexcused absentee report for verification.
  • Print report cards.
  • Print any reports needed for student grading periods.
  • Run a 20-day, 40-day and end of year report using the current student management software for state reporting purposes.
  • Enter dropouts in the state dropout program and send reports to central office.
  • Assist Counselor and Principal with student course requests.
  • Work with Technology Coordinator concerning state reports and student management updates.
  • Backup software on schedule
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s).

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands to finger, to handle, or feel objects, equipment, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, squat, crouch and kneel. The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull carry and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary: Salary to be established by The Limestone County School's District Salary Schedule.
