Duties: The Software Engineer at CNH Industrial America LLC in Tempe, Arizona will work on our next generation executive control system for agricultural machines. This work includes the design and implementation of software systems especially focused on safe machine automation, guidance and inter-machine communications. Design, develop, and evaluate software from concept through production stage, and make modifications as needed. Research, write, develop, test, and evaluate software programs. Work with teams to facilitate deployment related to software programs. Determine purpose, application, and feasibility of new or enhancement of existing software. Create and update documentation for designs, and all phases of the project. Work with external customers to troubleshoot and solve problems. Coordinate engineering efforts and provide engineering assistance to internal teams or external customers. Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and applications. Provide or assist with training needs as it relates to new or existing software. Assist with quote or request for quote process. Learn, understand, continuously improve, and promote the division's quality management system in accordance with ISO standards. Telecommuting permitted 2 days per week.
Minimum Requirements: Requires a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience as a software engineer or related occupation. Must include 3 years of experience with each of the following: (1) Rust; (2) C++; (3) Artificial Intelligence, including neural networks and large language models; (4) algorithms, including behavior tree and Kinematics; (5) software design and architecture; (6) precision agriculture technology including field computers; (7) CI/CD; (8) source control, including Git; (9) networking, including TCP/IP and mDNS; (10) Linux; (11) debugging tools, including LLDB, GDB, or Perf; (12) scripting in Python or Bash; (13) Docker; (14) CAN; (15) inter-process communication using ZMQ, MQTT, or sockets.
