How much do smb jobs pay per year?

As of Aug 28, 2026, the average yearly pay for smb in the United States is $87,250.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $70,000.00 and $104,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is an SMB?

SMB stands for Small and Medium-sized Businesses. These organizations typically have a limited number of employees and annual revenue compared to larger enterprises. In most regions, small businesses have fewer than 100 employees, while medium-sized businesses can have up to 999 employees. SMBs play a vital role in the economy by creating jobs, fostering innovation, and contributing to local communities. The specific definition of SMB can vary depending on the country or industry.

How does working in an SMB environment differ from larger organizations in terms of team dynamics and daily responsibilities?

In an SMB setting, employees often wear multiple hats and collaborate closely across departments, which can provide a diverse range of experiences and responsibilities. The work environment tends to be more agile, with quicker decision-making and direct access to leadership. This structure allows for greater visibility, opportunities to take initiative, and faster career growth, but may also mean facing challenges such as limited resources and the need to adapt quickly to change. Team members are typically expected to be proactive, flexible, and open to continuous learning.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an SMB manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an SMB Manager, you need strong business acumen, financial management skills, and a background in business administration or a related field. Familiarity with CRM platforms, accounting software like QuickBooks, and data analytics tools is typically required. Leadership, problem-solving, and effective communication skills help navigate team dynamics and customer relationships. These competencies are crucial for driving business growth, optimizing operations, and maintaining a competitive edge in dynamic markets.

What is the difference between Smb vs Network Administrator?

Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hello, hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, , hallo, vitejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a campus in Austin, Texas which is now home to our US operations. You have a choice in where and how you work. We trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you'd be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA - and we like to think that's all part of the fun. This list gives you a flavour of the type of work you'll be doing when you start - though it will likely evolve over time.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Conducting outbound sales activities to identify, prospect, and engage with SMB clients.

  • Developing a deep understanding of SMB customers' needs, pain points, and objectives to tailor Canva's solutions effectively.

  • Proactively reaching out to potential SMB clients via phone, email, and other channels to present Canva's value proposition and product offerings.

  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with SMB clients through regular communication, follow-up, and exceptional customer service.

  • Collaborating closely with internal teams, including Sales & Success, Marketing, and Product, to optimize the sales process and ensure a seamless customer experience.

  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets and performance metrics, including monthly quotas and conversion rates.

  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline management using our CRM system.

  • Staying informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and product developments to effectively position Canva in the SMB market segment.

You're probably a match if

  • You have a proven track record of success in outbound sales or account management roles, preferably in a B2B or SMB-focused environment.

  • You have strong sales acumen with excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • You have a results-oriented mindset with a passion for driving revenue growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

  • You have the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

  • You're familiar with CRM and outreach software (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach IO, Sales Navigator and Gong).

  • You have prior experience in the tech industry or SaaS sales. Working with SMB clients is a plus.

About the team

Join our vibrant Canva sales team in Austin and be part of a global movement to democratize design. Canva is a fast-growing tech company on a mission to empower people to create beautiful visual content easily and affordably. It's a chance to contribute to our global growth and make a real impact on the way businesses communicate and create.

What's in it for you?

  • Inclusive parental leave policy that supports all parents & carers

  • An annual Vibe & Thrive allowance to support your wellbeing, social connection, office setup & more

  • Flexible leave options that empower you to be a force for good, take time to recharge and support you personally
