Job description

Who:
A stable, family-owned legacy business with more than 50 years of success is seeking an experienced small business Controller to support leadership during a planned succession transition.
What:
The Controller will oversee the company's accounting operations, manage financial reporting, and supervise a small team of administrative professionals.
When:
This hire is being made immediately due to a planned retirement and will allow for a smooth financial leadership transition.
Where:
This position is based onsite at the company's headquarters supporting a closely connected small-business leadership team.
Why:
The company is financially strong, generating approximately $10M in annual revenue, and is looking for a hands-on financial leader to maintain and strengthen its stable operations.
Office Environment:

Salary:
Up to $120,000 base salary plus bonus.
Position Overview:
This Controller will lead the day-to-day accounting and financial management of a well-established organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting leadership with financial insights during an important succession planning phase.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee full-cycle accounting including financial reporting, budgeting, and month-end close
• Supervise and mentor a small team of administrative and accounting professionals
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Manage general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Support leadership with financial analysis and operational insights
• Maintain and improve accounting processes and internal controls
