Job description

Small business owner (private counseling practice) in Annapolis is looking for a reliable, organized personal assistant to help keep both home and work life running smoothly. Roughly half the work is in-person (errands, groceries, tasks alongside me) and half is flexible/remote (project support, admin work).


  • 10-20 hrs/week
  • $22-30/hr DOE
  • W-2 position (not contract); taxes withheld
  • HIPAA Business Associate Agreement required
  • Background check required
  • Experience with medical billing,specifically mental health strongly preferred 
  • Organized, dependable, and comfortable with a flexible mix of tasks
  • Reliable transportation
  • Experience with medical billing,specifically mental health strongly preferred 


Job duties 

Personal & Household Support

  • Grocery shopping and errands, with or without me
  • Meal planning and help with meal prep
  • Laundry
  • Helping me stay on top of personal to-dos


Business Assistance

  • Organizing and streamlining office systems and workflows for the practice
  • Ongoing assistance with billing, payroll and patient communication 
  • Project work as it comes up — examples: working through an insurance claims backlog, light data entry in TherapyNotes (our EHR), building out office processes
