Job description

Role Overview

The Controller I, Business Control supports the global Services & Spares business within a fast-paced semiconductor equipment environment. As a key finance business partner, this role delivers financial insight, governance, and analytical rigor to drive operational efficiency, margin improvement, and informed decision-making.

This is a hands-on, highly visible role requiring strong business acumen, analytical depth, and the ability to influence stakeholders across regions and functions.

Culture note: We operate with small, high-impact teams. Ownership is expected, accountability is clear, and impact is visible.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering & Decision Support

  • Serve as a trusted finance partner to Services & Spares leadership and regional teams.
  • Translate data into clear insights, scenarios, and recommendations that influence decisions.
  • Drive performance discussions through metrics, dashboards, and operational KPIs.

Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management

  • Own full P&L support for the business, including revenue, margin, OpEx, and strategic investments.
  • Lead annual planning, monthly forecasting, and performance reviews; deliver variance analysis against actuals.
  • Prepare and maintain P&L projections and management reporting packages for weekly/monthly/quarterly reviews.
  • Lead month-end close activities for the supported regions/business, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timeliness.

Governance, Controls & Inventory

  • Support internal and external audit requirements with clear documentation and follow-through.
  • Oversee controls related to customer consignment inventory and inventory accounting processes.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and best practices; IFRS familiarity preferred.

Analytics, Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Perform ad hoc analyses to support new business models, pricing, and operational opportunities.
  • Automate recurring activities (e.g., data extraction, forecasting models, reporting workflows) to reduce manual effort.
  • Support design and implementation of new business process flows in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Contribute to cross-functional finance initiatives that elevate planning, reporting, and business insight.

What Success Looks Like

  • Predictable outcomes: Accurate, actionable forecasts that improve business predictability.
  • Influence: Strong partnerships with Services & Spares leaders and regional teams; insights that shape decisions.
  • Transparency: Clear performance narratives and disciplined cost control.
  • Efficiency: Increased automation and scalable reporting that frees time for value-add analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant finance experience, including FP&A, forecasting, and month-end close.
  • Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset.
  • Proven ability to partner with and influence cross-functional stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Experience with fully integrated ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and experience presenting insights to management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, MBA, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Background in semiconductor, high technology, or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with data visualization and advanced financial modeling.

Our Culture & How Finance Works

We emphasize ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. Roles are broad in scope, expectations are ambitious, and results are visible.

In Finance, this means:

  • Business ownership of forecasts, P&L insights, and recommendations-not just reporting.
  • Practical judgment-financial rigor applied with business context.
  • Decision-driving analytics-insights that influence leaders, not just explain outcomes.
  • Candor and transparency-direct, fact-based communication built on trust.
  • High autonomy and accountability-comfort with ambiguity and a bias for action.

Why Join Us

  • High-impact, visible role supporting a critical growth business.
  • Daily partnership with senior leadership across multiple regions.
  • Exposure to complex business models in a global, fast-evolving industry.
  • Strong emphasis on analytics, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Clear career pathways within FP&A, Business Control, and broader Finance leadership.
