Shriners Children's Ohio in partnership with Dayton Children's Hospital - Dayton, Ohio
Shriners Children's Ohio is seeking 3 fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologists to join our dedicated perioperative team in full or part time roles. This position is based at Shriners Children's Ohio, located on the campus of Dayton Children's Hospital, and includes a clinical practice split with approximately 20-40% of time spent providing care at Dayton Children's.
Shriners Children's Ohio specializes in providing expert surgical care for children with complex conditions, including craniofacial surgery, cleft lip and palate repair, acute burn care, burn reconstruction, and select plastic and reconstructive procedures. This role offers the opportunity to care for a diverse mix of critical and non-critical pediatric patients while utilizing advanced techniques such as regional anesthesia, ultrasound-guided blocks, advanced airway management, and anesthesia support for laser scar revision procedures.
Anesthesiologists practice in an all-MD model without CRNA supervision, running one operating room daily. Approximately 90% of clinical time is spent in the operating room, with occasional responsibilities including preoperative assessments and occasional PACU care. Surgical schedules vary from one to five days per week.

Surgical schedules vary from one to five days per week.

Physicians collaborate closely with a highly specialized, multidisciplinary team that includes pediatric burn surgeons, plastic surgeons, physician assistants, perioperative nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and recreational therapy staff. This position includes a rotating 1-in-4 home call schedule. There are no resident or fellow teaching responsibilities within the Shriners program.

Qualifications:

  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesiology required
  • Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology
  • Eligible for Ohio medical licensure
  • MD or DO
