Job description

Hydraquip is seeking QA/QC Inspector Level 1 who will be responsible for ensuring the quality of items received, stored, and distributed, the quality of workmanship in inspection processes, and compliance with specifications and customer requirements.

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Ensure that the Quality Management System is carried out to achieve planned results.
  • Construct and maintain inspection job books and verify accuracy before releasing items for distribution.
  • Maintain required inspection documentation for received, stored, and shipped items, including packing lists, certificates of conformance, and inspection records.
  • Perform incoming inspections of all materials and items received into the distribution center:
    • Conduct dimensional, quantity, and condition inspections based on the purchase order, packing list, or applicable drawings and specifications
    • Review MTR’s, certificates of conformance, and other supplier documentation to confirm that materials are in accordance with requirements
  • Quality control inspections of items throughout receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and packaging processes:
    • Conduct and document final inspection.
    • Record and save inspection and test reports to the appropriate job books.
  • Provide quality support for outbound shipping, including verifying accuracy of picked and packed orders prior to shipment.
  • Perform detailed visual and dimensional inspection of items in receiving, storage, and prior to outbound shipment to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and packaging requirements.
  • Make accept/reject decisions on products and suggest possible corrections to processes or equipment to prevent recurring problems.
  • Ensure items being shipped to customers meet the specifications required, including proper packaging, labeling, and documentation.
  • Ensure materials and items received for distribution are inspected and meet Engineering and customer specifications
  • Interface with Management, Operations and Purchasing on discrepant materials.
  • Participate in process and product reviews to understand what role quality plays in new items and distribution workflows.
  • Review customer PO Quality Flow downs to ensure customer requirements are understood and distributed to the appropriate departments.
  • Participate in Internal Audits, External Audits, and Management Reviews.
  • Support and participate in the organization’s continual improvement program to conform to ISO 9001 and understand the implications of not complying with the quality management system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements


Education & Training:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent secondary education
  • Bachelor’s degree, a plus
  • Experience as described below may be accepted in lieu of education
  • Must be willing to obtain certifications as noted below:
    • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)
    • Powered Industrial Truck (Forklift) Operator Certification
    • OSHA 10-30 Hour Program

Experience:

  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in quality assurance/quality control
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment a plus

Knowledge, and Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of quality systems processes and procedures
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and follow instructions, drawings or blueprints, specifications, safety signs/warnings and other job-related materials as needed
