Job description

DescriptionWe are seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector in Katy, TX, to conduct pre-shipment inspections at AE Manufacturing. The role involves verifying product specifications, weight tolerances, packaging counts, and pallet labeling in accordance with AQL sampling standards.
Candidates must have 3+ years of manufacturing QC experience, strong defect classification skills, and the ability to submit clear technical inspection reports with photos within 24 hours of audit completion.
Technical Qualifications
  • Strong experience in Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSI) for consumer products.
  • Proficiency in AQL sampling procedures (ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 / ISO 2859-1).
  • Hands-on inspection checks: product weight/grammage verification, batch sampling, quantity counts, carton drops, and sealing integrity.
  • Thorough packaging & labeling verification (inner pouch/box condition, master carton markings, artwork compliance).
  • Fast reporting turnaround: ability to submit comprehensive inspection reports with clear photographic evidence within 24 hours.

Certifications Needed
  • ISO 9001 (preferred / not mandatory)

Industry Experience
  • Role/experience: Prior experience (or demonstrated competence) with pre-shipment/QC inspections and completing inspection checklists and defect records.
  • Counting accuracy: Ability to count tablets/pieces in pouches/cartons and record discrepancies correctly.
  • Visual QA: Ability to evaluate appearance/cleanliness/workmanship, and check packaging condition (including correct content, version of printed literature, and shipping/label condition).

  • Label & barcode checks: Ability to verify logo/label content and confirm barcodes are present, clean/scannable, and match required characters/symbology/position.
  • Basic measurements: Ability to take basic dimensional measurements (pouch/tablet length/width/height or diameter/height) using simple measurement tools.
  • Weight checks: Ability to perform scale-based weight tests for tablet weight with/without packaging and record values/tolerances.
  • Functional test: Ability to perform the required dissolving/streamer test following instructions, including controlling the specified water temperature (about 40ยฐC) and recording timing.
  • Tool discipline: Ensure required tools are available and used properly; follow any client rules for calibration/traceability if applicable.
  • Reporting: Provide clear, legible results (pass/fail where required), with notes describing defects (e.g., chipped tablet, count discrepancy, out-of-tolerance weight) and supporting observations/photos if requested.
