Job description

Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking a Quality Inspector for our Shipping Inspection Group .This is a full-time, on-site position in Kirkland, WA on 1st shift (Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day with a 30-minute meal break). Job Summary The Quality Inspector, Shipping Inspection is responsible for final shipping inspection activities, including verification of shipping documentation, part labeling, part counts, and packaging. This role works from blueprints, engineering change notices, and established operating procedures to perform a wide range of inspection activities and to determine acceptance, rejection, or rework requirements at various stages of production

Duties & Responsibilities Perform inspection of purchased parts, materials, components, electronic hardware, and equipment as they are received from vendors or subcontractors, using drawings, procedures, specifications, and complex measuring devices. Interpret and apply the requirements of industry workmanship standards, ES procedures, and EPS procedures throughout the inspection process. Identify nonconforming conditions and clearly document Non-Conformances in a concise, accurate manner.

Review, validate, and correct First Article Inspection (FAI) paperwork from suppliers. Demonstrate strong attention to detail in all inspection and documentation tasks. Maintain productive work habits, including effective time management, setting objectives and priorities, and following up on commitments across a variety of work challenges.

Quickly learn and adapt to AES business systems and tools to perform inspection tasks. Learn AES standards and obtain required certifications to perform inspections effectively and independently. Utilize and understand precision measurement tools (e.g., Vision Measuring Machine (VMM), Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)) to perform precise inspections and verification tasks within the mechanical cell

Understand AES FAI requirements to effectively review supplier FAI reports. Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance processes within the shipping inspection group. Minimum Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Quality Inspector typically requires 1-2 years of direct experience performing similar duties and responsibilities. Sr. Quality Inspector typically requires 3-5 years of direct experience performing similar duties and responsibilities.

Experience with circuit card assembly (CCA) inspection is required. Technical Skills Quality control analysis skills, including the ability to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality and performance. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including the ability to use Microsoft Excel.

Offers of employment are contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment background check and drug test including cannabis screening . Compensation Quality Inspector : $21.93-$29.67 per hour (midpoint: $25.80 ); typically consistent with 1-2 years of experience. Senior Quality Inspector : $24.52-$36.79 per hour (midpoint: $30.65 ); typically consistent with 3-5 years of experience

Quarterly Profit Sharing Bonus eligible . Factors such as experience in comparable roles, skill set, training, education, certifications, other qualifications, market conditions, and business needs influence the actual salary offered. It is not typical to be hired at or near the top of the range.
