Job description

Quality Inspector

Theodore, AL | $17/hr+ DOE | Temp-to-Perm | Full-Time
Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM–4:00 PM

Long’s Human Resource Services is seeking a Quality Inspector for a client company in Theodore, AL.

This role is responsible for inspecting incoming and assembled products, documenting findings, and helping ensure quality standards are met throughout production.

This is a great opportunity for someone with prior inspection experience who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Measurement

  • Perform visual inspections of incoming and assembled products
  • Use hand gauges including micrometers, calipers, and tape measures
  • Read and follow basic blueprints, drawings, and inspection criteria
  • Conduct shipping, receiving, and AQL inspections
  • Verify product or component deviations using precision measuring instruments

Documentation & Quality Tracking

  • Prepare inspection reports, test results, and quality documentation
  • Review rejects and work orders
  • Support rework tracking and material movement in ERP/MRP systems
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with internal quality procedures

Team & Production Support

  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams across production and quality
  • Meet deadlines in a high-accountability environment
  • Follow established standards and make sound decisions based on inspection findings

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of similar inspection experience
  • Experience with visual inspection, hand gauges, and basic blueprint reading
  • Strong paperwork and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Organized, self-directed, and able to multitask
  • Able to work well under pressure and make sound decisions based on established standards

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours regularly
  • Lift up to 15 lbs regularly
  • Lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
  • Lift up to 50 lbs rarely

Pay

Starting at $17/hr, negotiable based on experience
