Job description

The Quality Control / Shipping Clerk delivers world-class customer service to all retail customers. He or she performs a final check of all finished sign products and ensures everything is correct before calling the customer to pick up their signs. The Quality Control / Shipping Clerk will box and ship signs when necessary and check in inventory.
The ideal candidate has previous shipping experience, strong computer and internet skills, excellent proof-reading skills and an attention to detail, a high school diploma or GED, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. He or she must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.

RESPONSIBILITIES          

  • Continuously practices good listening skills with customers, UPS Store team members, and leadership
  • Performs a final QA check of all products to verify accuracy and correctness
  • Calls customers to arrange pickup of products
  • Boxes and ships products when necessary
  • Checks in inventory
  • Takes ownership of any shipping problems and offers viable solutions
  • Provides completed documentation for shipping
  • Answers phones courteously and provides accurate, detailed information
  • Helps with other Center functions as needed, such as faxing, copying, laminating, and binding
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS            

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Shipping experience desired
  • Strong proof-reading skills
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Outstanding phone skills
