Job description

Job Summary:
The Shipping lead will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the shipping department including shipments, storage, inspection, and supporting production with any materials as needed. The Shipping Lead will provide support to production by providing the necessary materials needed for producing products at appropriate times while staging finished goods in the warehouse rack system. The Shipping Lead will ensure all organization and daily tasks of the receiving warehouse as well as lead and coordinate all operations with the receiving clerks to ensure all work is done properly and as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor. A high level of problem-solving is required to contribute to the development of processes and procedures, as well as proficiency in inventory management.                                                

Duties/Responsibilities:
•    Collaborate with the Warehouse supervisor for tasks in the shipping department.
•    Inspect all outgoing trucks and products loaded according to customer purchase orders in good condition.
•    Review all shipments and documents for accuracy and approval before shipping.
•    Work with quality and production leads as needed to ensure materials are released before shipping.
•    Ensure all products are labeled and stored properly in designated spaces.
•    Ensure the shipping warehouse is in order and clean.
•    Responsible for day-to-day organization and assignment of tasks to operators.
•    Maintain equipment in clean and safe working conditions through daily inspections before startup and during shift.
•    Assist with inventory counts as assigned.
•    Assist the shipping department as needed based on supervisor guidance.
•    Cross-train personnel as needed.
•    Assist in creating lot lists following FIFO methods.
•    Oversight and verification of all packaging and ingredient items transferred to and from production.
•    Check all materials logs for accuracy and ensure materials are being logged daily.
•    Conduct daily traceability documentation to the Warehouse Supervisor and ensure all shipments are closed.
•    Report issues regarding the Food Safety Management System to the Supervisor.
•    Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.    
            
Education:
•    A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

Experience:
•    1-2 years of forklift operator experience.
•    At least 2 years of receiving/shipping warehouse experience.
•    1-year experience operating standup forklift in the high drive-in racking system.    
•    Some knowledge of computer programs for entering data.
•    Food manufacturing experience. – Preferred
