Warehouse Shipping Clerk Job description

Our client is currently seeking a Shipping Clerk in Surprise, AZ. This individual will be responsible for preparing and processing the administrative aspects of outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company procedures and shipping regulations. This role supports warehouse operations by preparing shipping documents, coordinating carrier pickups, tracking shipments, and maintaining accurate records in shipping systems and ERP. The Shipping Clerk position involves meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The right candidate will be able to lead projects with little to no supervision.

Warehouse Shipping Clerk Shift:

  • 1st Shift – 8:30am – 5:00pm

Warehouse Shipping Clerk Pay:

  • Starting at $21 / hr

Warehouse Shipping Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process shipping documents including packing lists, shipping labels, and bills of lading
  • Schedule and coordinate pickups and deliveries with various carriers (FedEx, UPS, LTL, TL, etc.)
  • Enter shipping and receiving data into inventory or ERP systems accurately and promptly
  • Verify shipping information and ensure all documentation complies with customer and carrier requirements
  • Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve delays or issues with carriers
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all shipments and receipts
  • Communicate with internal departments (warehouse, customer service, purchasing, etc.) to coordinate outgoing orders and incoming materials
  • Assist in checking in deliveries and updating records as needed
  • Ensure proper labeling and documentation for domestic and international shipments
  • Support the warehouse team with inventory audits, cycle counts, or other clerical tasks when needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping office area and ensure compliance with safety policies
  • Assist in all cycle counts and physical inventories (monthly, yearly, and as assigned)
  • Maintain flexibility regarding hours worked to respond to high demand periods when required
  • Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Warehouse Shipping Clerk Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass a Drug test and Background check
  • Good job stability
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work individually or with a team
  • Ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers and copiers.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, technical degree is a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • 1 years of experience in a shipping role.
  • Ability to frequently lift, maneuver, and/or pivot up to 55 pounds.
  • Ability to tolerate inclement weather, including heat and cold. Must have a normal level of tolerance for chemicals and/or airborne particles and noise level tolerance.
