Job description

JOB TITLE: Shipping amp; Receiving Associate
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
LOCATION: Newburyport, MA
SHIPPING amp; RECEIVING ASSOCIATE SUMMARY
The Shipping amp; Receiving Associate packages and processes finished small, specialized plastic products for shipment to customers. Responsibilities include the maintenance of detailed, computerized records of incoming and outgoing parts, workflow management, processing of required department paperwork and shipping documents, and handling of incoming raw materials. This position supports problem solving, ER, and root cause analysis.
SHIPPING amp; RECEIVING ASSOCIATE RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Prepare products for shipping according to Da/Pro and customer specifications, including packaging for transportation, weighing and measuring packages.
  1. Ensure that merchandise is in proper condition and that orders are filled properly before the items are sent to customers.
  1. Accurately maintain paper and computer records.
  1. Supports and/or manages outgoing shipments according to customer’s requests and established company procedures, as required.
  1. Ensure shipping documents are complete, accurate and processed appropriately at time of shipment.
  1. Receive incoming deliveries, log, and deliver via hand truck to nearby building/department.
  1. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  1. Experience with basic mathematical calculations including weighing, counting and measuring
  1. Experience with computers and various MS Windows and browser-based software
  1. Ability to receive, document and manage large amounts of information in a changing environment
