Duties and Responsibilities

  • process weekly/biweekly multi-state payrolls including reviewing hours from time and attendance system, review related issues and adjust pay as necessary

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, handles garnishments tax levies, support orders, and produces payroll reports for finance or sites as needed.

  • Resolves complex payroll discrepancies and answers employee inquiries

  • Maintains and enter changes to employee records from Workday to Dayforce.

  • Guide, train and mentor small team of payroll specialists.

  • Participate in other duties assigned.

Required Competencies:

  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.

  • Accuracy

  • Excellent Organizational skills

  • Customer Service Oriented

  • Collaborative team player

Experience:

  • 5 years of progressive multi-state payroll experience, with some leadership experience preferred.

  • Highly Proficient in HRIS systems (e.g., Day Force, Ceridian, and Workday) and advanced MS Excel skills.

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), highly desirable

Education:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience may be substituted in leu of.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to focus on details in a busy environment.

  • Flexibility to work some holidays as needed.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
