NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Gregory Mott, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
SHARED HEALTH AIDE
POUGHKEEPSIE CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT

QUALIFICATIONS:
According to Civil Service Rules and Regulations;
Must be fingerprinted;
First Aid and CPR Training preferred.
DUTIES:
The Poughkeepsie City School District (PCSD) is committed to providing students and parents with pathways to opportunity that will lead to achievement and success. Through student-centered effective and transformational leadership, school and community engagement, and an unrelenting pursuit to achieve greater school outcomes for children, the Poughkeepsie City Schools is focused on developing and growing greater access, equity, opportunity, and quality across PCSD.
Provide shared support for assigned students with a disability as assigned by classroom teachers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides shared support to students with special needs with activities that might be necessary as described in IEPs; duties may include escorting child in and out of building at start and end of school day; assisting child at recess and during fire drills or other emergencies; in addition, may be assisting with toilet skills and eating lunch.
Incumbents of this position may also be employed to provide one-on-one service for students with special needs. The work is performed under the general supervision with more direct supervision from instructors and therapists in matters regarding health-related procedures; redirection. The work involves direct, daily contact with students; may be 1:1 in some circumstances. Supervision over others is not normally a responsibility of this job.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be conducted where appropriate.
