Shop Service Mechanic – Heavy Equipment amp; Fleet

If you’re a hands-on mechanic who knows their way around engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, welding, and fabrication, we want you in our shop. Riggs Tree Service is growing fast, and we’re looking for a no-nonsense Shop Service Mechanic who takes pride in fixing things right the first time.
This role is shop-based in Okmulgee, OK and supports our fleet of industrial and commercial equipment. If you’re tired of being underpaid, underappreciated, or stuck in a dead-end shop — this is your opportunity.
What You’ll Do (Real Work for Real Mechanics)
Maintenance, Diagnostics amp; Repair
Perform scheduled maintenance, breakdown repairs, and emergency fixes
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools
Handle engine repairs, hydraulic troubleshooting, wiring, and component replacement
Weld and fabricate equipment and vehicle assemblies for fast, durable repairs and custom modifications
Preventative Maintenance
Execute preventative maintenance programs to keep equipment running strong
Inspect machinery for wear, safety hazards, and potential failures
Recommend and perform corrective actions before problems escalate
Shop amp; Team Collaboration
Communicate clearly with supervisors and crew leaders
Explain technical issues and repair solutions without the runaround
Maintain a clean, organized shop, tools, and parts inventory
Safety First — Always
Perform all work safely and according to company policies
Identify hazards and correct unsafe conditions immediately
Follow DOT and company safety standards at all times
What We’re Looking For
Experience amp; Training
High school diploma or equivalent (trade or technical school preferred)
Proven experience as a shop or field service mechanic
Background in heavy equipment, construction, agriculture, fleet, or automotive industries
Technical Skills
Strong working knowledge of:
Mechanical systems
Electrical systems
Hydraulic systems
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Proficient with diagnostic tools and multimeters
AC certification
Welding and fabrication experience
Working knowledge of DOT regulations
