Job description

Blue Canyon Technologies, RTX's small satellite manufacturer and mission services provider, is solving some of the toughest challenges in space. Our components and bus platforms have completed missions ranging from very-low Earth orbits to lunar and interplanetary journeys at a fraction of the cost of traditional space systems. We support premier defense, commercial and civil organizations including the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, NASA, MIT Lincoln Lab, the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, University of Colorado and more. Position Purpose: The Sr. Test Engineer has the responsibility of supporting test engineering tasks associated with the development, qualification, and acceptance testing efforts of components and/or spacecraft systems. This engineer would be working in a team environment, sometimes with remote team members, engaging in test and support of flight spacecraft electronics. This engineer would be interacting directly with flight hardware electronics in a lab environment. Development work will span test procedure development, writing and reviewing otherโ€™s automated test scripts, test equipment design, and executing tests using aerospace standard approaches. Other responsibilities may include data review and sign off, as well as mentorship and training to peers. This engineer has vast experience with test engineering best practices and applies those to testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and new development.

On-site position at our Boulder, CO location (work locations are subject to change based on business need).

Job Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications/Education:
  • Experience with hardware testing using oscilloscopes,multimetersand logic analyzers
  • Experience with writing and executing manual and/or automated test procedures
  • Experience with programming languages such asMATLAB,Ruby (COSMOS), and/or Python or similar
  • Ability to work independently withminimaldirection and to be a self-starter
  • Experience withcomponentand/orspacecraft level system integration and test
  • Thorough understandinganddemonstratedproficiencyof engineering principles and practices
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or other related discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in Test Engineering or a related field
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education
DesiredExperience:
  • Experience with electric motor design and test
  • Experience with embedded software
  • Experience with environmental testing:Thermal, TVAC,Vibration, Shock, EMI
  • Experience with radiation testing of electrical components (TID, SEE, etc.)

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
