Internal Job Title: Senior Systems Analyst
Location: League City, Texas (Marina Plaza) | Onsite
Status: Full-Time, Salaried
Reports to: Lead Systems Analyst
American National is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Senior Systems Analyst to support our Annuity Quoting Solutions team. In this role, you will serve as a key liaison between business partners, agile teams, developers, database resources, and third-party vendors to help deliver system updates, product changes, testing support, and production enhancements.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys translating business needs into clear technical specifications, working hands-on with data and systems, and supporting solutions that directly impact how products are presented and illustrated for agents and customers.
What You'll Do
  • Partner with business stakeholders, agile teams, developers, database teams, and vendors to gather requirements and support system enhancements
  • Create clear, detailed specifications and documentation that connect business goals to technical execution
  • Support product updates, new releases, testing efforts, regression reviews, and database maintenance activities
  • Use SQL and Excel to review data, troubleshoot issues, support configuration changes, and validate results
  • Assist with API-related coordination, third-party data integrations, and communication between internal and external teams
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, daily syncs, planning efforts, retrospectives, and release coordination
  • Help identify issues, define exceptions, support testing automation efforts, and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Provide production support as needed, including occasional support for deployments or time-sensitive product updates

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement
  • Minimum of four years related systems analysis, business analysis, data analysis, or technology experience
  • Strong SQL experience, with the ability to navigate databases, review data, and support system updates
  • Advanced Excel skills: Power Query experience is a plus
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Ability to write detailed, organized, and easy-to-follow specifications, test cases, and process documentation
  • Exposure to APIs, XML files, Postman, SOAPUI, third-party integrations, or automation testing tools is preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, open-minded, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
