Job description

KVEO seeks a Senior Producer to join the team for our weekend newscasts on NBC 23 and CBS Rio Grande Valley. The senior producer will play a key role in devising the editorial, execute strategic plans for the stations, and coordinating show production for the newscasts. Candidates should have strong editorial judgement, be comfortable crafting and producing segments and control room experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan weekend coverage

Assists anchor in setting show's editorial direction
Pitches story ideas
Help build rundowns for newscasts as well as breaking news and special programming
Copy edits scripts, content, digital stories
Serves as a leader in the newsroom

Fills in as line producer as needed

Booth shows
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by management

Operate software for CTV (vMix, OBS)

Publish digital content on WordPress and social media platforms

Requirements & Skills:
Four or more years of editorial experience
Must be selfdirecting, selfmotivating and able to work will with others
Must be detailoriented
Must have strong organizational skills
Must have excellent writing and copyediting skills
Must have considerable line producing experience
Must be able to handle high pressure and high intensity situations with poise and maturity
Must be able to work assigned shifts and be on call
