Senior Premium Auditor
Join Our Team as a Senior Premium Auditor
Are you an experienced Premium Auditor looking for a role that combines technical expertise, flexibility, and meaningful client interaction? We are seeking a Senior Premium Auditor to play a critical role in ensuring accurate premium calculations while delivering exceptional service to our clients through a modern, technology-enabled auditing approach.
In this role, you will conduct primarily virtual audits, with occasional on-site visits, for complex Workers' Compensation and General Liability policies. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders while helping maintain underwriting integrity and regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do
Premium Audit & Risk Assessment
  • Conduct complex premium audits to verify earned premium exposures and ensure accurate premium calculations.
  • Review payroll records, tax documents, financial statements, and other business records to validate premium exposures.
  • Ensure compliance with policy terms, manual rules, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Validate proper classification of exposures according to Workers' Compensation and General Liability guidelines.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve complex policy and audit issues.

Virtual & Field Audit Management
  • Utilize secure digital platforms and remote communication tools to conduct efficient and accurate virtual audits.
  • Manage a territory of assigned audits, primarily conducted remotely, with limited physical audit visits as needed.
  • Minimize business disruption for insureds while maintaining audit quality and accuracy.
  • Present and review audit findings through virtual meetings or in-person discussions when appropriate.

Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for insureds, agents, producers, and underwriting partners throughout the audit process.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and build strong professional relationships with stakeholders.
  • Communicate audit results clearly and professionally while addressing questions and concerns.

Leadership & Mentorship
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior auditors and team members.
  • Share best practices and industry expertise to support team development.
  • Stay current on industry trends, bureau regulations, underwriting endorsements, and evolving audit practices.

Qualifications
Required Experience
  • Extensive experience in Premium Auditing, including complex Workers' Compensation and General Liability audits.
  • Strong insurance industry background with deep understanding of premium audit principles and methodologies.
  • Expertise interpreting policy language, manual rules, and classification systems.
  • Experience identifying individuals subject to Workers' Compensation regulations and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • APA (Associate in Premium Auditing) Certification or equivalent professional designation.
  • Prior experience conducting both virtual and field audits.
  • Experience working directly with underwriters, insureds, and agency partners.
