Job description

Sr. Patient Access Representative

Location: REMOTE

Duration: PERM, Full-Time



This team supports the back-end of the physician billing revenue cycle, specifically physician billing follow-up and accounts receivable (AR) management. Once a claim has been submitted, this team is responsible for researching unpaid, rejected, or unresolved claims and taking the necessary actions to secure reimbursement.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage physician billing AR follow-up for unpaid and underpaid claims
  • Work assigned Epic work queues throughout the day to identify and resolve outstanding accounts
  • Research claim rejections, denials, and claims with no payer response
  • Contact payers and review claim status to determine next steps toward resolution
  • Resolve billing issues that prevent reimbursement
  • Work across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
  • Document follow-up activities and maintain accurate account records



Day-to-Day:

  • Heavy work queue management in Epic
  • Reviewing and working on outstanding claim balances
  • Following up with insurance companies on claim status
  • Resolving rejected, denied, and aging claims
  • Maintaining productivity and quality metrics



Must-Haves:

  • Physician Billing (Professional Billing/PB) experience
  • AR Follow-Up experience
  • Insurance claims follow-up experience
  • Experience researching claim denials, rejections, or unpaid claims
  • Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
  • Ability to work independently in a high-volume work queue environment



Preferred:

  • Epic experience
  • Experience managing multiple payer types
  • Denial management experience
