Job description

Roberts Onsite is growing and we're looking for a driven Mechanical Project Manager with experience in the industrial sector to join our team. If you thrive on leading complex mechanical projects, building strong client relationships, and seeing your work come to life on the shop floor, this is the role for you. The Mechanical Project Manager position is located in Kitchener, Ontario and reports directly to the Mechanical Manager.

A Little About You:

You're a handson, solutionsoriented professional with proven experience successfully delivering mechanical projects from estimate through closeout. You're familiar with fastpaced industrial manufacturing environments and bring a calm and organized approach to your work. You're a team player that is comfortable managing schedules, budgets, subcontractor, and client expectations while keeping safety as your top priority. Proactive by nature, you anticipate issues before they arise, communicate clearly, and bring a continuousimprovement mindset to every project.

The Role and Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide overall leadership and accountability for assigned projects, including cost control, schedule adherence, quality, safety, and contractual performance;
  • Define and implement project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in accordance with company policies, health and safety regulations, collective agreements, and contract specifications;
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders including Roberts Onsite team members, clients, consultants, trades, subcontractors, suppliers, and the community, ensuring timely and transparent communication;
  • Prepare and submit project estimates, including review and interpretation of changes issued to the contract for cost, schedule, labour and workforce implications;
  • In coordination with the estimating department and senior management, review contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants;
  • Plan, prepare, monitor, and manage construction schedule and milestones;
  • Monitor, forecast and report on progress, labour productivity, work outcomes, budget, and costs;
  • Maintain oversight of work in progress, assessing for areas of risk and deficiencies, instructing the project team to address issues that arise;
  • Coordinate with internal purchasing team to ensure the timely availability of materials, equipment, and resources required to support field activities;
  • Act in the best interests of Roberts Onsite at all times;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Software:

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam
  • Experience with Accubid estimating software and Jonas Management System for Construction an asset, but will train


Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Project Management, Construction Management or relevant field, or Certificate of Qualification (CofQ) in Plumbing, Steamfitting, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic or similar.
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in the construction industry, specifically relating to plumbing, piping systems, HVAC or similar.
  • Experience in the industrial or automotive sector an asset.

The expected salary range for this role is between $100,000 - $140,000 CAD per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate's qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Roberts Onsite's total rewards package.
