Summary Statement
Share your passion for skating and help others build confidence on the ice! Join Boise Parks and Recreation as a Senior Ice Skating Instructor, where you'll teach youth and adults in a fun, supportive, and safe environment. Whether you're introducing beginners to the basics or helping skaters refine their skills, you'll create engaging lessons that make learning on the ice enjoyable for participants of all ages. If you love teaching and inspiring others, this is your chance to make a lasting impact both on and off the rink. This position is open to applicants 18 years of age or older.
Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be a U.S. Figure Skating Registered Coach through a recognized figure skating club or as an individual.
  • Must complete CER Class C within six month of date of hire.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience within a U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skill Program or ISI weSKATE program.
Licensing And Other Requirements
  • U.S. Figure Skating Registered Coach Membership
Special Requirements
Applicants must be able to pass:
  • City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation

Essential Functions
Provides ice skating instructions and advice for groups. Ensures a safe and effective learning environment for all participants.
Answers questions from participants and parents as required in accordance with City of Boise Policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.
