Senior Human Resources Coordinator
Santa Rosa, CA
Full-Time | Temporary  | Potential Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $30.00-$40.00+/hour DOE
Possibility to work at home 1 day a week.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Coordinator to join their Human Resources team. This is a full-time temporary assignment expected to last approximately three months, with the possibility of becoming a temp-to-hire opportunity based on business needs and performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is confident supporting all aspects of Human Resources. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of California employment law, exceptional organizational skills, outstanding customer service, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
Employee Support & HR Administration
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR questions.
  • Manage and respond to inquiries through the HR shared inbox.
  • Provide support or direct inquiries to the appropriate HR team member.
  • Escalate employee relations, leave of absence, and compliance matters when appropriate.
  • Prepare HR communications and employee announcements.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Coordinate all new hire onboarding activities.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and complete employment paperwork.
  • Coordinate benefit orientations and enrollment.
  • Partner with hiring managers to ensure a positive onboarding experience.
  • Support employee offboarding and status changes.
Human Resources Operations
  • Assist with payroll administration and employee records.
  • Prepare employment documentation including compensation changes, status changes, promotions, reporting structure updates, and title changes.
  • Update and maintain job descriptions.
  • Support handbook revisions and policy updates.
  • Assist with HR audits and compliance initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and California employment laws.
HR Systems & Reporting
  • Maintain employee information within the HRIS system.
  • Support employee status changes.
  • Maintain organizational charts using Visio or similar software.
  • Compile reports and HR metrics as requested.
Employee Engagement
  • Coordinate employee surveys and engagement initiatives.
  • Compile survey results and assist with reporting.
  • Support company events and employee recognition programs.
Records Management
  • Organize, digitize, and maintain confidential personnel files.
  • Scan and electronically organize HR documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company record retention policies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent HR experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably in California.
  • Strong understanding of California employment laws, wage and hour regulations, leaves of absence, accommodations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience with onboarding, benefits administration, HR compliance, and employee relations support.
  • Payroll experience preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as UKG, ADP, Workday, or similar.
  • Experience maintaining organizational charts using Visio or similar software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
