Overview
Electrical engineer capable of determining specific client requirements and acquiring understanding of the project electrical, instrumentation and controls design requirements, schedule, and deliverables. This position requires that the incumbent can contribute to electrical designs while under the direction of senior engineers. It requires experience and familiarity with materials and equipment associated with natural gas pipeline facilities including compressor stations, mainline valve sites, regulator and meter stations, storage facilities, and pipelines. The incumbent will also have familiarity with petroleum liquids pumping facilities, tank facilities, terminals, and pipelines.
Under technical direction of a project manager, project engineer or lead electrical engineer, the incumbents increasing responsibilities encompass the design and development of one or more parts of a single project. Assignments will have clear and specific objectives and investigate a limited number of variables, complex features, and alternative solutions.
The engineer at this level is a competent engineer capable of a certain amount of independent project and design capability. Completed assignments are checked and reviewed for accuracy and completeness by others. This position may require the technical supervision of other engineers, technicians, drafters, and designers.
Responsibilities
  • Performs calculations and prepares sketches for specific segments of a project.
  • Gathers information and prepares technical specifications for the parts of the project they are working on.
  • Organizes and tracks various project activities i.e., material requisitions, vendor submittals etc.
  • Prepares information to be shown on drawings, coordinates work with drafters and designers and reviews drawings when completed.
  • Assist in the preparation of man-hour and project cost estimates and schedules both internal and for the client.
  • Prepares technical reports and correspondence for approval.
  • Proficient with discipline specific software packages.
  • Undertake assignments that require independent work and responsibilities.
  • Prepares project cost estimating.
  • Interfaces with the client's technical personnel on specific project design items or tasks.
  • Undertake multiple tasks and interfaces with other disciplines to obtain information to complete the tasks.
  • Assists with vendor inspection, startup, and commissioning.

Qualifications
EDUCATION:
      • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an EAC/ABET approved college or university.

EXPERIENCE:
      • Minimum experience required is 6+ years.

LICENSING:
      • Pursuit of a Professional Engineer license is desired.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
      • Requires excellent oral communication skills in English.
      • Must be able to clearly communicate in speech and writing to other team members and client personnel.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
      • Mathematical skills that are required for completion of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

REASONING ABILITY:
      • Able to identify problems and develop solutions.
      • Able to make decisions on specific project items which will promote the achievement of overall project objectives.
      • Able to view problems from many different sides to develop the best overall solution.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
      • Ability to work in a team environment.
      • Strong interpersonal skills are a must.
      • Strong attention to details.
      • Ability to work with multi discipline team of engineers and CADD personnel.
      • Ability to work flexible hours, occasionally more than a normal 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule.
      • Ability to travel freely within the United States and internationally as dictated by project requirements.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
