Job Description:The Sr. Pricing & Deal Desk Analyst is a critical support role within the Deal Desk & Pricing team supporting the Products & Healthcare Services division of Owens & Minor. A key element of this role is collaborating with key stakeholders to deploy GPO & competitive market-based pricing across the entire portfolio to maximize value. The role assumes a lead position in the RFP/bid proposal process for our GPO's as well as current and future O&M customers by aligning with Finance, Sales, Marketing, National Accounts, and other stakeholders to complete the deal strategy pricing functions.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000/yr. The actual compensation offered may vary based on job related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.

What your typical day/week will look like

You will use your passion for data curiosity and advanced financial modeling skills to build out and maintain pricing tools, RFP responses, and financial authority approval matrices for price actions that come through to you via our CRM: SFDC / Salesforce request. You will drive the pricing analysis from start to finish and memorialize the financials and final actions in Salesforce to monitor and track all decisions. Tap into your analytical side to give detailed financial analysis and review of bid process to ensure all proposals are consistent with GPO pricing guidelines, corporate goals and objectives, and compliant with company policy. And the fun part??? -- be a part of a cool, interactive and dynamic team of individuals who are well versed in Deal Desk strategies, Product Pricing, and Contract Compliance. We have a completely re-vamped onboarding/training process that sets you up for 30/60/90-day goals and objectives to support your onboarding and training!

Core Responsibilities

  • Champion pricing concepts and tools that help the national accounts and sales team effectively price and structure deals while adhering to our established pricing governance & policies

  • Monitors and maintains all incoming pricing requests within Salesforce / SFDC to drive request to completion

  • Reviews and interprets all product RFP's and related information to be included in financial models and deal response

  • Serve as a lead resource and SME on all bid functions within Global Products Deal Desk

  • Collaborate with internal teams to cross-functionally drive process improvements and pricing governance

  • Coordinates reviews with senior management to discuss pricing data and strategies to win/retain business

  • Conduct margin analysis for product categories to aid in decision making and reporting to internal teams

  • Secure and document final approval terms in SFDC / Salesforce - including pricing, rebates and other material terms and conditions and provide final package to key stakeholders to contractually execute the approved agreement

  • Design and develop reports and dashboards exhibiting sales trends and analysis that aid in decision making

  • Coordinate with compliance and rebates team to manage special pricing contracts

Required Experience - The essential "Gotta-Haves"

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Business, Finance, or relatable field

  • Can substitute 7+ years of current experience in finance/pricing in lieu of a Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in pricing, finance, strategy, and/or analytics

  • 5+ years of experience in a Deal Desk or strategic pricing function with demonstrated success in RFP's, bid management, and financial P&L modeling

  • Advanced-level knowledge in Microsoft Excel (modeling/analysis) that includes VLOOKUP/X-LOOKUP/H-LOOKUP/Pivot Tables/Advanced Formulas such as nested if/and statements

  • Excellent communicator - skilled at building & sustaining relationships with internal stakeholders. This is a CORE aspect of this role as this team drives effective and clear communication to several stakeholders as well as serving as consultant resources to drive strategic insights into the data and financials.

  • Collaborative and Service-oriented - be an ambassador and collaborator to the internal teams you support

  • Strong financial modeling - experience leading the bid process and presenting to leadership team

  • Highly analytical - ability to use data to inform pricing decisions and measure performance

  • Highly organized and process-oriented - strong attention to detail and takes pride in your work

  • Flexibility - ability to translate and compile data from multiple sources into one output

  • Proactive - respond quickly to requests and independently prioritize decisions under pressure - proactive vs reactive

  • MBA in Accounting, Business, Finance, or relatable field

  • Experience leveraging AI and automation tools to enhance pricing strategy, streamline deal desk workflows, and develop scalable financial solutions that drive efficiency and support data-driven decision-making

  • Familiarity with Healthcare and GPO relationships and their impact within Hospital systems

  • Experience with owning or pricing out healthcare GPO product RFx solutions

  • Knowledge of chargeback rebate functions, rebate incentive programs within healthcare setting

  • Experience with Salesforce/SFDC, and SAP or SAP BI reporting

  • Strong BI experience - creating and maintaining dashboards/reports from mining system data

  • Experience presenting to Sr. Management; comfort with addressing and influencing others

  • Knowledge of medical and/or surgical products used within hospital settings

  • System knowledge of Snowflake cloud platform

  • Certified Pricing Professional (CPP), Project Management (PMP), or Lean Six Sigma certifications
