As the Administrative Intern (AGS Fellow), you'll be a vital part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team that supports students as they pursue careers in public policy, foreign affairs, and national security.
In this role, you will provide programmatic and operational support for the Duke Program in American Grand Strategy (AGS), a flagship initiative dedicated to strengthening understanding of U.S. foreign policy and national security. You'll help advance AGS's mission to prepare the next generation of national security strategists by supporting student engagement, coordinating dynamic events, and contributing to research and outreach efforts. You will also have opportunities to develop and pursue your own special projects aligned with AGS's mission.

What You'll Do:
Events & Programming
- Provide administrative and logistical support for field trips, staff rides, and speaker series events, including onsite assistance, scheduling, advertising, participant coordination, and leading small student groups.
- Coordinate events and programs connecting students with AGS alumni, such as young-alumni panels.
- Design and implement student professional development opportunities, including information sessions and internship panels.
Communications & Social Media
- Maintain and update the AGS alumni database.
- Help develop and implement communications and social media strategies, including content planning, analytics tracking, and coordination with social media interns.
- Prepare and disseminate the weekly newsletter.
- Maintain and update the AGS website.
- Create content such as interviews, photography, captions, posts, and long-form stories for newsletters, the website, and social channels.
- Design and compile the program's annual report.
Special Projects
- Develop and implement projects that advance the AGS mission and enhance the student experience.
- Conduct independent research or contribute to research projects led by AGS leadership and affiliated faculty.

Education/Training
- Bachelor's degree required, with communications, analytical, and organizational skills typically acquired through coursework.
- Equivalent combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Experience
- No experience required beyond education.
