Job description

The SGL site in St. Marys, Pennsylvania, is our largest graphite component processing site worldwide. It is characterized by its broad product portfolio and expertise in machined, purified and CVD coated parts used especially in the fast growing LED and semiconductor industries. The site is part of the Business Unit Graphite Solutions.
This position has responsibility for the sales in the Microelectronics Business line with the Semiconductor industry with assigned accounts in their sales territory within the US. They will also create presence and identify opportunities for growth within this territory, as well as develop and maintain customer relationships to understand customer needs. The position also requires interaction with Operations, Quality, and R&D teams to ensure that all projects under development are technically feasible and have sufficient commercial potential.
What to expect:
  • Proposes and implements sales plans / programs upon agreement with the Head of Global Sales.
  • Provide technical support during customer visits and qualification activities.
  • Is responsible for all commercial aspects within assigned Semiconductor related customers, from initial contact to received payments.
  • Responsible to offer prices and all commercial terms for business to customers in due course, responsible for customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains knowledge of customer profitability and considers cost to serve in all offers.
  • Establishes a sales plan for the area of responsibility and prepares the sales plans in agreement with the Regional Sales Director.
  • Monitors market and industry developments in region / at assigned customers against position of competitors.
  • Establishes in-depth knowledge of customers' needs through relationships with main contacts at customers, such as buyers, researchers, engineers, etc.
  • Establishes an annual growth and action plan to acquire new customers to drive growth.
  • Handles comments on performance from customer within the BU guidelines.
  • Interactions with Sales colleagues, Order Management, Supply Chain Management, Technical. Service, and Accounting.

What we're looking for:
  • 4-year degree in technical or business discipline.
  • Semiconductor industry related experience with knowledge of Epitaxy or MOCVD and or Semiconductor processes.
  • Previous experience maintaining and managing a sales territory essential.
  • Provide technical support during customer visits and qualification activities.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of financial concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel, Power Point) and SAP, CRM.
  • Able to work independently and make effective decisions.
  • Option for remote work available.
